Classic Pooh

Collecting Pooh

We all LOVE Pooh, and each of us have our own Pooh and Friends treasures. Some people just collect for fun and some Pooh fans are more serious collectors. But whether you are collecting for fun or profit, only collect what you really love.

"A row of Teddy Bears sitting in a toy shop, all one size, all one price.
Yet how different each is from the next. Some look gay, some look sad.
Some look standoffish, some look loveable.
And one in particular, that one over there, has a specially endearing expression.
Yes, that is the one we would like please"

Christopher Robin from 'The Enchanted Places'

There is certainly a lot of Pooh memorabilia to choose from.

First Editions of the Winnie the Pooh books fetch thousands at auctions as do E. H. Shepard's original Pooh drawings. Few of us can hope to own these, but there is still plenty for us to collect. Pooh books old and new, Classic Pooh soft toys, Pooh Beanies, ornaments .... the list is endless

The four Pooh's at the top of this page are some of my favourites. The largest one is by Karin Conradi and is a limited edition 1 of 3. Deans who are the UK's oldest Teddy Bear company made the cute little Pooh, who is sitting in the crook of the larger Pooh's arm.
On the top right is a Steiff Pooh which was made exclusively for the Danbury Mint. The Teddy Hermann Pooh is sitting in front of him.

Gabriella Designs Pooh

The Pooh pictured on the left was made by Gabriella Designs an English company which closed in 1998

On the right is pictured, my very first Pooh who came from Hamleys, the famous London toy store in the early 1970's

Winnie the Pooh

Robert John Wrights Pooh's Blue Balloon

He is my most favourite of all my Pooh bears. He was made by the talented Robert John Wright, and was made exclusively for Japan in limited edition of 500.

He has made many gorgeous Pooh and Friends, they are highly collectible. they can be difficult to find in the UK. I found my Pooh or rather he found me in the Teddy Bears of Witney catalogue. They also have a small display of Pooh collectibles in their shop
