About
Gills Lap
Gills Lap has been online since 1998 or was
it 1999? My memory gets worse! When I try to remember I
forget! This Classic Pooh site is named Gills Lap after
the real Enchanted Place on the very top of Ashdown Forest,
A. A. Milne called it Galleons Lap in his books.
I created the site to share my love of Classic
Pooh. Pooh is not a Disney Cartoon creation. Pooh is very
much an English Bear created by two talented and special
English Gentlemen, they are of course A. A. Milne and E.
H. Shepard. Poohsticks Bridge and Gills Lap are real places
in Ashdown Forest and they can still be visited today along
with other places A.A . Milne mentioned in his books
All of the Pooh and friends pictures on this
site (apart from those on books, posters etc. ) have been
mouse drawn by me. I have never scanned any pooh and friends
images from books etc. My drawings are based on the descriptions
given in A.A Milnes Pooh books. All of the photos on this
site were taken by myself or members of my family.
Gills Lap has been neglected for a while as
I have some health and disability problems, which can course
me some problems, and I have many trips to and stays in
hospital. . I also have a Pet Loss site which I have been
spending most of my time developing. Eventually I have been
able to get back to Pooh and I have now condensed the site
to make it much easier for me to maintain. All the information
about Pooh, and his creators and the Pooh places can still
be found here.
The true spirit of Winnie the Pooh lives here
at Gills Lap. Pooh has become a world-wide symbol of love
and friendship which are much needed qualities in today's
world,
I hope you will enjoy your visit here, and
before you leave I hope that you will take time to sign
the Pooh Petition to have
Pooh and friends returned to their home.
I have some shopping links on this site and
any money raised will go towards the upkeep of this site.

I am sorry but I can't remember where I found the Jigsaw

of Pooh ! I made the downloadable jigsaw with Brains Breaker
which I purchased from http://www.brainsbreaker.com
I do not offer any
